Chocolate Smoothie Recipe

Recipe:

-1/2 large banana or one whole small banana

-1 scoop protein powder (I like organic chocolate plant-based from Costco)

-1 tbsp cocoa powder (good for magnesium and flavor)

-1/2 c unsweetened almond milk

-1/2 tbsp unsweetened peanut butter

-(optional)1 handful of spinach

-5 drops almond extract

-1/4 c oats

Blend in blender. Once smooth slowly add ice till you get the perfect consistency. If you like cacao nibs add at the end or add a half a graham cracker bar for a tasty texture.

Heidi’s Newlywed Salad Recipe

1 chopped purple onion

1/2 cube butter

2 cloces minced garlic

couscous box mix

feta cheese

olive oil

tomatoes

carrots

peppers

cucumbers

chopped romaine or butter lettuce

cashews or pine nuts

1 lemon

Saute chopped purple onion in 1/2 cube butter with two cloves of minced garlic. Before onions are tender, add your water and salt. (as in recipe) Once boiling, add couscous and turn off hear. Stir and cover for 5 minutes. Add Feta cheese, a drizzle of olive oil, and tomatoes, carrots, peppers, cucumbers, and lettuce. Top with cashew or pine nuts. Finish the salad by squeezing one whole lemon on top. Makes a pretty St. Patrick’s day meal! Reheat in the microwave the next day and it somehow tastes even better!

Pumpkin Bars with Browned Butter Frosting Recipe

ingredients:

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 Cup sour cream

1 stick salted soft butter

1 1/2 cups pumpkin

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

2 cups flour

1 tsp Baking soda

1 tsp Salt

1 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice

2 sticks butter

8-12 Tbsp milk

2 tsp vanilla

4-6 cups powdered sugar

directions:

Blend together sugars, sour cream, and butter. Add pumpkin, eggs, vanilla, and blend. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and spice. Pour into greased jellyroll pan, bake at 350 degrees for 27 min. When cake cools, brown 2 sticks butter. When browned, add 8-12 Tbsp milk, vanilla, 4-6 cups powdered sugar. Mix till creamy. Spread onto cake while still warm. Let cool. Enjoy!

Heidi’s Kings Hawaiian large-batch sandwich recipe

Ingredients:

1 bag King’s Hawaiian Rolls

mustard

mayo

turkey

cheese

lettuce

Directions:

Cut the whole bag of rolls in half while still in paper sleeve. Top with listed toppings or your own favorites. Replace tops and slide whole tray into ziplock bag. Your kids can snack on them over the next two days! Perfoect for lunches, snacks, and beach!
